From Photography to Music: My Creative Transformation
From Photography to Music
At 9, I discovered my passion for images. At 40+, I discovered a new love: music.
More Than 30 Years Behind the Camera
Since 1987, when I won the Sarotti Photo Competition, photography has been my life. I have:
- Photographed thousands of people
- Captured countless events
- Worked in London, Paris, and Munich
- Created documentations about homelessness and humanitarian missions
Every image tells a story. Every portrait captures a moment, an emotion.
The Connection Between Image and Sound
One day I realized: Music and photography are siblings.
Both share:
- Composition: The arrangement of elements in space (photography) or time (music)
- Rhythm: The visual flow in an image, the beat in a song
- Emotion: The ultimate goal is to convey feelings
- Storytelling: Every work tells a story
The Leap into the Unknown
After decades of expertise in one field, it was initially scary to be a beginner again. But that's exactly what made it so exciting!
What I Learned:
- Creativity knows no bounds: The ability to tell stories is transferable
- Technique is learnable: Just like cameras, you can master instruments and software
- Experience is valuable: My years as an artist helped me learn faster
- It's never too late: A new chapter can begin at any age
The Future
I'm not stopping photography – it is and always will be a part of me. But now I have an additional dimension to express my creativity.
Perhaps I'll soon combine both worlds in multimedia projects. Who knows?
The creative journey continues – and I'm excited to see where it leads.
What are your creative passions? Have you ever taken a big leap?
